Picture this: You are one of the directors of a local car marque who has just experienced an unprecedented amount of success in debuting your company's first car model in the mid-80s. However, time waits for no man and you soon find yourself and your company in the 90s, a time in which there is now a paradigm shift in automotive design, a transition from the previous wedge-esque design to the curvier and more rounded design lines. What do you do? This situation sums up the situation that Proton was facing from its 1985 debut with their Saga, and into the 1990s. Their answer, was the Proton Wira in 1992. The second model offered by Proton which served to be a slightly modern commuter car, affordable by the average layman. So how good is the car? Through the lenses of an economical sense and reliability, well its pretty darn reliable, especially when you consider the fact that this is a car that is still commonly found on the roads in Malaysia till this very day since its debut over 30 years ago.
